Central heating is by way of oil and the boiler is located in the kitchen. Windows are chiefly double glazed in uPVC casements with the exception of the Velux window over the bathroom which is in a timber casement.  The interior of the cottage is well presented and is in good decorative order.

The cottage stands within grounds which are configured to provide lawned garden and wooded area.  To the front and both sides of the cottage there are lawns and there is a patio from where the delightful view towards Loch Maberry can be enjoyed.  The wooded part of the garden is situated towards the rear of the cottage. 

The cottage, which  is sited in a south westerly position,  is situated on the B7027 which is known as the Knowe Road and which links the village of Barrhill with the market town of Newton Stewart.  The landscape forming this locality is mainly upland in nature and comprises moorland and forestation.  The cottage is about 6 miles south of Barrhill and approx. 12.7 miles north of Newton Stewart.  The seaside town of Girvan is about 19 miles from the cottage.
